Friday July 16: Open Gardens: Ten unique gardens to visit, all within easy driving distance of the hotel.

Garden Judge's Workshop 1 at 4:00 at the hotel
This is the definitive class for anyone wanting to learn how to evaluate daylilies. Even if you are not sure you want to be a Garden Judge, or if you haven't been a member in AHS long enough, this is definitely a class worth taking. And only $5!

Potting Shed Open 2:30-5:30: A wonderful boutique of all things "garden," including plants of daylilies and hosta. Please visit and patronize our vendors!

Social Hour: 5:30-6:30: Cash bar

Light Dinner 6:30-7:30: Included in the registration! This is a light meal of sandwiches, salads, and beverage

Region 4 meeting: 7:30-8:00: Melodye Campbell, AHS Region 4 President

Specialty Auction 8:00-9:00: "Focus on Four" featuring recent introductions from Region 4 hybridizers. A chance to see and purchase introductions that are tailored to grow in our climate. No postcard promises, plants will all be here! (For more information, select Focus On Four button at bottom of this page.)

Saturday July 17: Breakfast: FULL breakfast is included with the room rate! The Tour Gardens are all within an easy drive of the hotel, so there will be time to enjoy a good breakfast before boarding the buses.

Bus Tour: HADS has five lovely gardens to show off to the region, including the Master Gardener Gardens at the Albany Cooperative Extension building. We will be enjoying a box lunch there, so lots of time to explore the extensive gardens. Lunch is included in your registration.

Garden Judge Workshop 2: Here's a chance to apply and discuss points learned in Garden Judge's Workshop I and complete your Garden Judge Workshop training. This workshop will take place in the last tour garden. Please make sure you board the Garden Judges Bus. $5 fee.

Region 4 Award announcements: Elizabeth Nesmith Clump Award, Stanley Saxton Seedling Award, Regional Service Award and AHS Regional Service Award.

Guest Speaker 7:45-8:30pm: Mike Shadrack....How to explain Mike Shadrack? Mike is an extremely knowlegable hosta man who has been shoveled into daylilies thanks to his enthusiastic wife, the effervescent BADS founder, Kathy Guest Shadrack. He is a published author, talented photographer and noted speaker. But none of that tells the full tale. Mike's talks are filled with intelligent observations of gardens and people from the perspective of a Brit, but are delivered with dry humor and a straight face that has his audiences roaring. Come prepared to enjoy to the fullest.

Region 4 Auction: 8:30-10:00pm Live auction featuring plants from all over the US.
