History Officers Program Directions Membership

The Connecticut Daylily Society (CDS) began as a summer potluck supper in 1990 and now has a membership of 500 and growing. CDS' annual functions include meetings in spring and fall, a plant sale in May, a summer picnic, and an all-day winter workshop. CDS also publishes, at least twice a year, "The Connecticut Daylily Society Newsletter".

The Daylily Journal and Hemerocallis Check Lists are available at the Avon Library as are several books on the subject. Some CDS members, such as August Krupien, are serious hybridizers whose cultivars are in many hemerocallis publications.

Our club is involved in tet conversion, rapid propagation with BAP, and the greenhouse growing of daylilies. In spring of '98 we planted our first CDS daylily garden of 580 plants which were sold at our plant sale and in spring of '99 we will create several daylily display gardens at the Avon Senior Center. Unless otherwise specified, all club meetings are 10:00 to 2:00 with a one-hour lunch break at the Avon Senior Citizen's Center. CDS Board meets at 9:00am on meeting days.  Directions to Avon Senior Citizen's Center below.
