JC- Junior Citation Award is to "focus attention on new cultivars that appear to have outstanding qualities and distinction".
HM- Honorable Mention Award recognizes good performance "beyond the local or regional levels". Cultivars are nominated by the hybridizers themselves.
AM- Award of Merit only ten awarded each year. Presented to daylilies that show "not only distinctive and beautiful" qualities "but have proven good performance over a wide geographic area". Must have previously won a Honorable Mention Award.
SSM- Stout Silver Medal only one awarded each year. "The highest honor bestowed upon a daylily" as determined by receiving the greatest number of "certified" Garden Judge votes. Must have previously won an Award of Merit.
ATG- Annie T. Giles Award presented
each year for the best small-flowered daylily greater than 3
inches but less than 4-1/2 inches diameter.
DFM- Donn Fischer Memorial Cup
presented each year for the best small flowered daylily less
than 3 inches in diameter.
DSA- Don C. Stevens Award presented each year for the best boldly eyed or banded daylily.
EFA- Eugene S. Foster Award presented each year for the best registered LATE or VERY LATE daylily (reblooming not eligible). Previous award winning not necessary for eligibility.
ELD- Extra Large Diameter Award presented each year for the best daylily
over 7" in width but not registered as a spider or
unusual form.
ESB- Early Season Bloom Award presented
each year for the best early blooming daylily registered as
early or extra early.
EPA- L. Ernest Plouf Award presented each year for the most fragrant daylily. Must have previously won a Honorable Mention Award.
HOA- Harris Olson Award presented each year for the best spider (minimum petal length to width ratio of 4.0:1) daylily. Measurements must be approved by "Spider Experts". Previous award winning not necessary for eligibility.
IMA- Ida Munson Award presented each year for the most consistently blooming doubled-flowered daylily. Must have previously won a Honorable Mention Award.
L/M- Lambert/Munson Award presented
each year for the best Unusual Form daylily.
RWM- R.W. Munson, Jr. Award presented
each year for the best patterned daylily.
The following three awards are not determined by AHS "certified" Garden Judges.
LAA- Lenington All-American Award presented each year for the best daylily, registered at least ten years, for outstanding performance in the different regions as voted by the AHS Board of Directors.
FSC- Florida Sunshine Cup awarded at the annual AHS convention by popular vote of attendees for the best small or miniature-flowered daylily displayed in a convention garden.
PC- President's Cup awarded at annual AHS convention by popular vote of attendees for the most outstanding daylily submitted by hybridizer's to be exhibited in a convention tour garden.
