AHS Region 4 Photo Contest

The Region 4 Photo Contest showcases the beauty of daylilies and gardens throughout the Great Northeast. Members of ADS Region 4 are invited to submit their best images each year for recognition in multiple categories.

Eligibility

• All photo entries must have been taken in the current year.
• Region 4 ADS members of any age may enter.
• Up to six entries total will be accepted per member.
• All entries must have been taken in the current year of the contest.

Photo Requirements

• Submit high-resolution, full-sized digital images in JPG (.jpg) format only.
• Each image should be at least 1MB in size.
• Name each file using this format:
  Cultivar (hybridizer, year) photo [your name]
  Example: Explosion in the Paint Factory (Howard, 2013) photo John Gardener.jpg
• For landscape photos, label as:
  Garden name/owner name, your name
  Example: Sunny Hill Garden – Linda Porter, photo Jane Doe.jpg
• Cultivar names do not need to be capitalized in the file name.
• Use digital editing tools sparingly: cropping and subtle color correction are acceptable; please avoid heavy manipulation or added borders.

Contest Categories

• 1. Single or Multiple Blooms – may include a clump shot.
• 2. Artistic Close-up – creative images focusing on all or part of a daylily bloom.
• 3. Landscape Shot – any garden from any region, but daylilies must be featured.

Deadline and Voting

Photo Contest entries are due by September 15 to the editor, with voting to take place October 1–15.
