2026 Bertrand Farr Silver Medal, a lifetime achievement award for meritorious service in the field of daylily hybridizing: Rich Howard

Congratulations to Rich Howard, recipient of the 2026 Bertrand Farr Silver Medal, one of the American Daylily Society’s most distinguished honors for achievement in daylily hybridizing.

Established in 1950 and named for early daylily nurseryman Bertrand Farr, the Silver Medal recognizes a hybridizer’s outstanding success and significant contributions to the field. Unlike awards honoring an individual cultivar, the Bertrand Farr Silver Medal recognizes the hybridizer and the body of work they have developed over the course of their career.

Rich Howard of Connecticut joins an impressive list of influential hybridizers who have received this lifetime achievement honor. We congratulate Rich on this well-deserved recognition and celebrate his contributions to daylily hybridizing and the broader daylily community.
